Message from our Chair, Lyndal Plant
Australian cities are rapidly losing tree cover and biodiversity. Public and environmental health issues are growing, costs are blowing out, and government services and support agencies are strained. Treenet research shows how urban trees are a big part of the solution to these challenges, but how do we make space for trees in our towns and cities?
At our 24th National Street Tree Symposium leading council engineers will show how they’re building better places for people by building better spaces for trees, and they’re saving money in the process. Elected councillors, managers, planners and engineers who attend will be inspired to lead the tree change in their community!
This edition of Treenet News shows how we’re stepping up research, education, advocacy and engagement to help get more trees into towns and cities. Enjoy August News, forward the link across your networks, check out the symposium program and register for your place now.
