Message from our Chair, Lyndal Plant
Treenet exists to enhance urban forests to help make cities and towns healthier and happier places to live and work. Knowledge is a common denominator amongst TREENET’s 6 key focus areas so we bring people together to conduct research, to learn and to share knowledge across the disciplines and professions involved in design, construction and maintenance of urban spaces for trees. Our annual National Street Tree Symposium is a big part of our educational outreach. In this edition of Treenet News we give a taste of some of the ways to protect trees and to build new spaces for planting trees that symposium attendees will learn about, we give updates on our tree trials and Avenues of Honour projects, and we profile another resilient urban tree species: the Kurrajong. Enjoy this July edition of Treenet News, and please forward the link to all in your networks.
