Matthew is head of the PlantClinic at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney and operates a private consultancy company in Arboriculture based in Sydney. Matthew has an academic background in Arboriculture, Plant Sciences, Molecular Biology, Plant Pathology, Ecology/Mycology and is an accredited member of the Institute of Australian Consulting Arboriculturists & Australasian Plant Pathology Society, where he is an Associate Editor of Australasian Plant Pathology Journal. Matthew been involved in the molecular diagnostics of a number of tree diseases including Mango Malformation Disease, Pine Wilt Nematode, Myrtle Rust and a number of other diseases affecting horticulture, agriculture and the natural environment.
